Celebrating Youth and Sports: Évron’s National School Sports Day

Maïa, a second-year student at Douanier Rousseau High School, shared her experience, saying, “I chose volleyball, and I teamed up with some girls I didn’t know. It’s fun!” The overarching goal of the event was to promote school sports and increase awareness of the UNSS. The initiative is significant in a department where there are about 5,000 licensed athletes, encompassing both players and promising young officials. According to Mathieu Michineau, the departmental head of UNSS, “Mayenne ranks 10th nationally.” Meanwhile, in the realm of public colleges, 90 students from Évron, Bais, Montsûrs, and Villaines-la-Juhel had the chance to discover sports such as futsal, climbing, pétanque, laser run, and eco-friendly hiking as part of the Climate Month activities.
